Dr. Sonal Mayur Chitroda is an accomplished academician and researcher with vast professional experience in teaching and research. She holds a Ph.D. in Medical Technology (Clinical Laboratory Technology) from Sardar Patel University. In addition to serving as an Incharge Principal, she also serves as the Associate Professor of the institute.
Dr. Sonal has made significant contributions to the advancement of Allied and Healthcare education through her academic leadership, curriculum innovation, and active involvement in institutional development. She currently chairs several key committees at Bhaikaka University, including the Board of Studies of Allied & Healthcare Sciences, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Curriculum Committees, and Research Advisory Committee Her dynamic leadership extends to her role as the University Coordinator for the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and the National Service Scheme (NSS), where she fosters student engagement and holistic development.
Dr. Sonal also serves as a member of the BLISS centre at Bhaikaka University, where she actively promotes student well-being, life skills, holistic and spiritual development through various university initiatives.
As a passionate teacher and mentor, Dr. Sonal has guided postgraduate and doctoral students in Medical Laboratory Sciences and has been recognized as a Ph.D. and PG research guide in the disciplines of Medical Laboratory Sciences. Her research interests include cancer biomarkers, molecular diagnostics, infectious diseases, and biomedical waste management. She has published and presented numerous scientific papers in various peer-reviewed journals and at national conferences.
In recognition of her outstanding teaching and academic contribution, she received the “Teaching Excellence Award” in 2022 from Bhaikaka University. Beyond academics, Dr. Sonal has been instrumental in organizing national and regional workshops, conferences, and faculty development programs, focusing on innovative teaching-learning methodologies, quality assurance, and research in biomedical sciences.
Dr. Sonal is a life member of the Indian Confederation of Medical Laboratory Sciences (ICMLS) and actively contributes as an external expert for academic and research committees at reputed institutions. She also serves as an external expert for the Board of Studies and Research Advisory Committees of various institutes and universities across Gujarat state, contributing to curriculum development and research advancement.. She firmly believes in creating an educational environment that nurtures professional competence, ethical values, and a spirit of innovation among students and faculty alike.
