Dr. Sonal Chitroda is a Medical Laboratory Technologist by training and a teacher of biochemistry and pathology by profession, with 8 years of teaching and 4 years of research experience in the various field of medical laboratory technology. She has wide experience of working in various academic and administrative capacities at the institute. She has completed her Ph.D. in Medical Technology (CLT) under the faculty of medicine from Sardar Patel University, VV Nagar, Anand.
Apart from serving as an Associate Professor at L. P. Patel Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology, she is also a coordinator of IQAC-NAAC, NSS (National Service Scheme) Unit, and the Curricular Committee of LPPIMLT, Bhaikaka University. She is also a member of the Feedback Committee, Student Grievance Redressal Cell, and Research Advisory Committee of Bhaikaka University. She is actively involved in all academic, administrative as well as research activities of the institute and also serves as an assessor, mentor, and guide for the students.
She has attended numerous workshops and conferences in the different fields of Allied Health Sciences and Molecular Biology nationally and internationally. She has also delivered talks in the various fields of pathology and histopathological techniques at workshops and conferences. Her area of specialization is clinical biochemistry & clinical pathology and her research interest lies in the area of advanced molecular techniques and gene sequencing in cancer research. She has presented and published original research articles in the field of molecular diagnosis of cancer as well as different areas of pathology and biochemistry in highly indexed and UGC care-listed journals. She has guided more than ten postgraduate students for their thesis and has been recognized as a Ph.D. guide in the discipline of Medical Laboratory Technology at the university. She was felicitated with the “Excellence in Teaching” award by Bhaikaka University for her exemplary performance as a teaching faculty during the academic year of 2021-2022.
